LIFE LESSONS FROM MAHABHARAT

Mahabharata is a great epic in the Hindu religion. It is considered as a sacred book by Hindus. ‘Bhagavad Gita’ is a part of Mahabharata. let ne give you a brief summary about mahabharat :

The Mahabharata is an ancient Indian epic where the main story revolves around two branches of a family – the Pandavas and Kauravas – who, in the Kurukshetra War, battle for the throne of Hastinapura.

At first when I read mahabharat I just considered it as an story . But after sometime I realised that it not just portrays about Pandavas and Kauravas war or victory of Pandavas over kaurvas but it also teaches us real life lessons . The deeply philosophical ideas that perpetuate throughout the epic have a lot to teach us about the art of living.

So, here are 7 important lessons that we can learn from the Mahabharata.

1. A revengeful instinct can only lead to one’s doom.

Mahabharata may revolve around the war of duty. But we cannot escape the fact that the major reason behind the destruction of all was revenge. The Kauravas lost everything to their blinded desire to ruin the Pandavas. The war did not even spare the children, including Draupadi’s five sons and Abhimanyu.

2. Half knowledge can be dangerous

Arjuna’s son Abhimanyu teaches us how half-knowledge can have an adverse impact. While Abhimanyu knew how to enter the Chkaravyuh, he did not know the way out.

3. A good strategy is what you need to sail your boat.

If Pandavas didn’t have Krishna and his master plan, they wouldn’t have witnessed the victory they did. Always have a plan.

4. You cannot be stopped if you are passionate about what you do.

We know that Arjun was the greatest archer in the world. But Eklavya was even better than him. He hid himself behind the trees and grasped everything that Drona taught Arjun. His passion for archery and hunger for knowledge made him even better than Arjun at archery. So , if you want to achieve something than nothing can stop you .

5.Righteousness is priority

Righteousness should be a priority and needs to come before love. This can be proved with an insight to Gandhari, who denied blessing his sons before the war and she knew they were wrong

6.Bad company can ruin your life beyond imagination.

We all hate Shakuni mama, don’t we? He literally destroyed everything that the Kauravas owned, and he influenced them to be negative. If it wasn’t for him, the war wouldn’t have happened at all. They would have been living a happy life if thay hadn’t have been in a bad company.
